FARMFORCE - Operating instructions 2009

Hydraulic machines - hydraulic line connections

There are 3 hydraulic lines connecting the post driver to the tractor.
If the tractor is fitted with a front end loader it is likely the 4 breakaway lines may be a supply line for the loader. In this case the dump/crowd ram supply line is the one to be borrowed for the driver.
The lift rams should be left operable for obvious reasons.
Connection 1 Oil flow to the post driver.
Oil flow to the post driver through the tractors breakaways (external remotes).
This line supplies oil flow to the control bank and main dump valve attached to the post driver.

Connection 2 Oil flow from the post driver.
This line is the return from the drivers control bank to the breakaways (external remotes).
Breakaways are in pairs; one being the supply and the other a return for the oil.
After the lines have been connected the control lever on the tractor for the breakaways needs to be locked open. If the control lever is not fitted with an 'indent' (self locking position) then the lever needs to be temporarily fixed to remain open to allow for constant oil flow to the post driver.

Connection 3 Unrestricted oil flow from the post driver.
This is a high flow return line from the main lift ram and dumps the oil expelled by the falling weight.
A universal fitting is supplied which is temporary until we can arrange to make up a permanent fitting which is screwed into where the oil filler cap is located.
Caution: Oil through the main return line is extremely not and care should be taken to ensure the line is fitted correctly. As a safety measure this line should be secured to prevent accidental disconnection.
